The Number 5 sire of progeny registered by the American Angus Association in FY2020 from his first two calf crops, Jet Black combined a weaning ratio of 127 with a yearling ratio of 120 and an URE ratio of 114, and his dam combines an average calving interval of 364 days with an average progeny weaning ratio of 4 at 112 and average progeny yearling ratio of 3 at 106.
Sired by the very popular $90,000 top-selling spring yearling of a past Connealy Angus sale, his dam offers a sire stack of the Pathfinder Sires Upward and In Focus and carries on the cow family descending from a full sister to the famous Pathfinder Sire B C C Bushwacker.
Daughters of Jet Black are headlined by the $60,000 second high-selling heifer calf at Riverbend in 2019 with daughters selling for $49,000 and $30,000 at High Roller Angus, and others included a $19,000 heifer calf at Angus of Clear Creek and the top-seller of the 2019 Double Creek Farms Female Sale at $15,000 and the $15,000 top-selling open heifer at Reverse Rocking R with daughters topping many sales during 2020.
One of the first sons of Jet Black to sell at auction was the $60,000 top-selling bull of the 2019 Wilks Ranch Fall Sale, and another was a $35,000 top-seller of the 2019 Fall Bull Sale at 44 Farms and in 2020 a son was a $70,000 sale feature in the Express Spring Bull Sale with another now featured at ORIgen was the $45,000 half interest top fall yearling of the Express Fall Bull Sale after recording the highest Beef on Dairy indexes in America’s largest seedstock program.
Two other sons of Jet Black topped the Fall 2020 Friendship Farms Bull Sale and both F F Rito Prime 9J8 and FF Rito Combined 9J6 have joined their famous sire in the ORIgen marketing program.
