The 2026 sale for the Ingalls family featured 45 sons of their powerful ORIgen sire Ingalls Kahuna, and led by the $20,000 top selling bull of the sale, the 45 Kahuna sons sold for an average of $11,284 that was $1,636 higher than the average of the other 66 bulls sold in their very successful sale and in the 2025 Ingalls sale that was topped by Kahuna’s full brother, Kahuna sons recorded an average of more than $500 per head higher than the sons of his famous sire.
Sired by the $165,000 SITZ record-selling sire that was the 2022 ORIgen semen sales leader and continued that sales dominance through the first quarter of 2023, Kahuna combined an actual birth weight of 64 pounds with a weaning ratio of 121, a yearling ratio of 121, a %IMF ratio of 126 with a URE ratio of 118 recording an adjusted 365 day scrotal measure of 43.38 with an actual PAP score of 39 and a frame score of 6.0.
With 204 progeny genomic tested, the first 225 calves have an average weaning ratio of 103 with 65 yearlings also record an average ratio of 103 and 103 progeny scanned have an average URE ratio 103 .
Pathfinder Dam of Kahuna offers an average progeny birth ratio of 3 at 96, an average weaning ratio of 3 at 111 and an average yearling ratio of 2 at 115 with an average %IMF ratio of 2 at 125 and she has become an Ingalls embryo donor after raising a full sister to Kahuna as her third natural calf and the top selling full brother as her fourth, and she carries on a strong cow family with her dam recording an average weaning ratio of 6 at 108 and her pedigree stacks three generations of the Ingalls family and she offers outcross genetics for many of the most popular sire lines in the Angus breed today.
