ORIgen welcomes the record-setting $580,000 Baldridge Colonel C251 to the ORIgen marketing system where he joins his sons, the $80,000 third interest record-setting SydGen KCF Gavel, the $60,000 half interest EXAR Rolex that led the 2019 Grand Champion Pen of Three Bulls at the National Western and Deer Valley Ditka, a member of the flush of three brothers that sold for $90,000 to headline the 2019 Bull Sale at Deer Valley where six of the top-selling seven bulls were Colonel sons.
The million-dollar valued dam of Colonel is a multi-million dollar progeny producer whose long list of herd sire sons include the ORIgen Number 2 $Maternal value index and Number 4 $Weaned calf value index leader Baldridge Endeavor E477.
Colonel is a grandson of the ORIgen legend Hoover Dam that produced and sold more semen than any other bull in the history of the program, and after selling for a Baldridge record price in January of 2017, his first progeny earned him the ranking of Number 6 for progeny registered in 2019 by the American Angus Association with 2,598.
With his new semen price of $20 per unit and eligibility for a $16 price on 100 units or more, Colonel is now available for widespread use in a wide range of breeding systems.
Among ORIgen sires in the Fall 2021 National Cattle Evaluation update, Number 6 Claw set EPD and Number 8 Residual Average Daily Gain EPD
