Connealy Dry Valley was a featured bull in the 2017 Connealy Spring Bull Sale from whom Jerry Connealy retained semen for in herd use and the resulting first calf crop born there in the spring of 2018 were the favorite sire group of summer visitors and 2019 bull sale customers.
A son, Connealy Big Valley, was the “peoples’ choice” of the 2019 Connealy Spring Bull Sale at $90,000 and another bull from that same calf crop was a $25,000 selection of the JJ Angus herd in Pennsylvania.
A daughter of Dry Valley was a $22,000 selection of SydGen as a featured bred heifer of the 201 SITZ “Elite Sort” Female Sale and heifer calves by him have been quite popular at Express and they include a $17,000 featured natural heifer calf there in 2020.
The dam of the Dry Valley is a daughter of the ORIgen foundation Pathfinder Sire Summitcrest Complete and Jim Sitz considers her among the elite power cows of the Connealy Angus herd that is one of the Angus breed’s largest and most respected sources of genetics marketed and used around the world.
As of 11-24-21, among all ORIgen Angus sires, top 9 for Calving Ease Maternal EPD and top 10 for hoof Claw set EPD with 605 progeny genomic tested, 130 progeny scanned in 10 groups with an average URE of 103 and seven daughters in production whose first 10 calves have an average weaning ratio of 103
