Rough Rider was a $70,000 top-seller of the 2018 Mile High Night National Hereford Sale, and he has become a favorite of all that have seen him in person.
As his dam’s first calf, this promising young sire combined a weaning ratio of 125 with a yearling ratio of 120 and his 878-pound weaning weight represented 71% of his dam’s weight when she weaned him, and she has an ideal udder.
Going on to record a 1,427 pound yearling weight with a 38 centimeter scrotal measure, Rough Rider combines ideal structure and very good feet and legs with beautiful color, markings, pigment and a very good hooded eye and features a pedigree of straight horned genetics.
Among all Hereford sires available from ORIgen, Rough Rider ranks Number 1 for Weaning Weight EPD, Yearling Weight EPD and Milk & Growth EPD, Number 2 for Calving Ease Maternal % EPD, Udder Suspension EPD and hot Carcass Weight EPD, Number 3 for maternal Milk EPD and Teat size EPD and Number 4 for Certified Hereford Beef Index, Rib Eye Area measure EPD and Marbling score EPD.
