The dam of Steadfast was a $50,000 sale feature of the record-setting 2016 sale at Angus Hill in New York and a three-quarter brother to Steadfast set a record when half interest sold for $185,000 at Rutherford Ranch in 2016 and the first progeny of Steadfast have marked him as an elite and reliable calving ease sire with both a double-digit Calving Ease Direct EPD and a Minus Birth Weight EPD.
Larson Angus Ranch of Sharon Springs, Kansas compiled the 2018 USPB grid data for nearly 220 head of home-raised cattle they harvested May through July of 2018 for submission to the American Angus Association database.
The 104 heifers with identified sires and birth dates had an average age at harvest of 440 days with 72% graded USDA Prime and the seven daughters of the Larson, Angus Hill and Three Trees ORIgen sire Angus Hill Steadfast 854B included six graded USDA Prime for a phenomenal 86% qualification rate.
The 114 steers with identified sires and birth dates were harvested at an average age of 447 days, under 15 months of age like their sisters, and 41% of the group were graded USDA Prime and Angus Hill Steadfast 854B again came to the top of the large group with seven of ten progeny graded USDA Prime for a qualification rate of 70%!
