Larson Angus Ranch of Sharon Springs, Kansas compiled the 2018 USPB grid data for nearly 220 head of home-raised cattle they harvested May through July of 2018 for submission to the American Angus Association database, and seven daughters of Steadfast included six that graded USDA Prime, for a phe- nomenal 86% qualification rate in a group of 104 heifers with identified sires and birth dates that had an average age at harvest of 440 days with 72% of the group graded USDA Prime.
The dam of Steadfast was a $50,000 sale feature of the record-setting 2016 sale at Angus Hill in New York, and seven of ten steer progeny of Steadfast graded 70% USDA Prime from a group of 114 steers with identified sires and birth dates that were harvested at an average age of 447 days, under 15 months of age like their sisters, and 41% of the group were graded USDA Prime.
