In the 2019 Lone Mountain Sire Performance Study, 2403Z was the Number 2 Sire for Marbling score with a progeny average of 36.85% IMF based upon five imaged carcasses and the Number 2 Sire for Rib Eye Area at 14.28 square inches, slightly trailing only Hirashigetayasu ETJ001 at 14.53 square inches.
2403Z was the sire of LMR Shichiro 5543C, that graded 42.59% IMF and four of the five 2403Z harvested progeny graded above 36% IMF.
The sire of 2403Z, WKS Shigeshigetani, is regarded as primarily a marbling sire, but at Lone Mountain, he has proven to be a growth sire as well and he is a half-brother to Sanjirou, but more closely bred than most half-siblings as they share the same dam with the sire of 2403Z being a son of Haruki II a half-brother to Michifuku with both sired by Monjiro 11550.
Semen is qualified for US, most of Central and South America, Mexico, Canada, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.
