A maternal brother to G A R Sweet Dreams, the top calving ease bull from that Fall 2009 G A R calf crop, was the first bull ever completely retained for use in that program. The now-deceased dam of Daylight was the $35,000 top-selling bred cow of the 2011 sale at Gardiner Angus Ranch. 

As of this writing, there are only three bulls in the entire Angus population that offer a top 2% CED and top 1% $B index in combination with a top 10% BEPD and they are Daylight, his flush brother and the ORIgen featured young sire Eclipse.
